Blessed Sugar Cookies
Soft, sweet, and prayed over — my most-requested recipe. People tend to eat these like potato chips, one after another!
Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Butter (softened, not melted — salted butter preferred)
- White sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Have a non-stick cookie sheet ready.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Soften the butter just until soft, not melted (a few seconds in the microwave works, if needed).
- In another bowl, mix the softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until fully combined.
- Once mixed, stop and pray.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the cookie sheet, three per row.
- Bake for 7–8 minutes, or until slightly golden on top.
- Remove from the cookie sheet and lightly dust with white sugar while warm.
- Serve warm.
Bamma's tip: Don't skip the salt — it's what gives these their little kick. And always taste-test your butter before you start... you'll thank me later. 😉
